  • Is Poole Harbour Water Taxi suitable for wheelchairs?
    Unfortunately we are not able to offer wheelchair access onto the water taxi.
  • Where can I park?
    There is an open car park adjacent to the Thistle Hotel at the eastern end of Poole Quay near Fisherman’s landing where Poole Harbour Water Taxi is berthed. You can also park opposite the Marine Police Station and adjacent to Force 4 shop western end of the Quay. There is also a multi storey car park is located in Old Orchard, Poole BH15 1SB.
  • Can I reach you on public transport?
    There are three bus stops located along Poole Quay, including one outside the Thistle, and one near Dolphin Quays, which are in a short walking distance of Fisherman's Dock. All Poole buses are operated by More Bus. You can find there website and the timetables on their website. Poole train station is located in the centre of the town, around 15 minutes walk away from the Quay.
  • How do I pay you?
    We can take cash or card when you depart from the boat. We do not take cheques or payment over the phone.
  • Do I have to pay a deposit?
    We do not require a deposit for any water taxi rides, harbour tours, or charters.
  • Are there toilets available?
    There are no toilets on the boat, however you can find public toilets located at Dolphin Quays or in all of the pubs and restaurants along the Quayside. Please note that if using the facilities in a pub or restaurant, you may be required to make a purchase.
  • Can I bring a picnic?
    Of course! A harbour tour is the perfect time to enjoy a picnic or some truly fresh fish & chips from one of Poole Quay's eateries. Please note, there are no tables on board, and we do not offer cutlery or glasses, so bring your own! Deli on the Quay is located very close to Fisherman's Dock and offer wonderful picnics, sandwiches, and salads.
  • Are dogs allowed on board?
    We are happy to welcome well behaved salty sea dogs on board. Please make sure they are on their lead when on board and walking on jetties.
  • Is a harbour tour suitable for children?
    Absolutely! We have a variety of life jacket sizes suitable for 3 months+. Our water taxi has high rails, so little pirates are very safe while onboard.
  • What should I wear?
    The temperature on the water is often cooler than on land. Please bring layers to ensure you can stay warm. We also recommend a hat and sunscreen while travelling on Poole Harbour Water Taxi.
  • Do you supply life jackets?
    We have a selection of lifejackets in different sizes available to use, suitable for 3 months and up.
  • Can you take me to Brownsea Island?
    Brownsea Island is Poole Harbour's biggest island and is owned by the National Trust. To land on Brownsea Island, there is a £25 landing fee (as charged by the National Trust) on top of the water taxi price. Landings on Brownsea Island must be booked in advance.
  • Can you take me to a restaurant?
    We can take you to any of the restaurants located on the shores of Poole Harbour and on Wareham Quay. These include: Shell Bay restaurant Lazy Jack's Rick Steins, Sandbanks The Quay, Wareham Pubs and restaurants along Poole Quay
  • I have a booking, but the weather is bad. What happens now?
    We are dependent on fair weather for all services. Should the weather be poor on the day of your booking, we will call you to arrange an alternative day (if suitable). We will try and give you as much notice as possible, but the weather can sometimes change very quickly!
